As the seconds waned in overtime on Sunday night, a sold-out PPL Center was dead silent.
Anxiety filled the air as a plethora of Penn State fans were on the edge of their seats, continuously losing hope as UConn piled on the pressure. With the fan’s faith in the Nittany Lions falling slim, a hollow thud sounded, the horn blared and a stick flew into the air.
The stick wasn't just any other stick. It was Matt DiMarsico’s — the stick used mere seconds before to score the most important goal in Penn State history.
“I don’t really remember all too much of what happened or what I was thinking,” DiMarsico said.
