Women’s Soccer
Penn State’s 2024-25 sports calendar kicks off tonight with a top 10 women’s soccer matchup at Jeffrey Field. The No. 4-ranked Nittany Lions will host No. 8 Texas Tech looking to build on last season’s NCAA quarterfinal finish. While UCLA was selected as the preseason favorite to win the Big Ten, Penn State’s No. 4 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches’ poll is the highest of any Big Ten team.
Expectations are lofty for Erica Dambach’s squad despite losing five 2023 starters- Payton Linnehan, Kate Wiesner, Ellie Wheeler, Cori Dyke, and Kat Asman- to the NWSL Draft.
