Wake Forest defensive end Duke Ejiofor was named the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week for his eight-tackle performance against Florida State on Saturday.
Ejiofor, a redshirt senior from Houston, had 3½ tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble against the Seminoles in a 26-19 loss. His eight tackles were a career best.
For the season, Ejiofor is second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in tackles for loss (10½), trailing North Carolina State’s Bradley Chubb (11). Ejiofor leads the Deacons with three sacks and his 20 tackles are the most among the team’s defensive linemen.
