Dominant third period guides Penn State women’s hockey to sweep over Syracuse

After earning its first conference win of the 2024-25 season behind a Brianna Brooks overtime goal on Thursday, No. 12 Penn State looked to complete a series-sweep as it welcomed Syracuse back to Pegula Ice Arena on Friday.

The blue and white defeated Syracuse 5-2, earning the series-sweep.

The Orange quickly drew first blood, as a Nicole Hall hooking penalty sent it to the power play. The strong Nittany Lion penalty-killing unit remained calm and killed off the infraction.

The teams then flipped, as the blue and white earned a power play of its own as Klára Jandušíková received a body-checking penalty.
