Penn State landed a graduate transfer at wide receiver in Florida State’s George Campbell earlier this offseason, and it looks like you can add another transfer wideout to the list with Division II’s Azusa Pacific’s Weston Carr announcing that he will also be attending Penn State this fall.
First and foremost, let’s address the fact that this will be a massive jump in competition level for Carr. Remember, Carr didn’t play in the FCS against Eastern Washington and Sam Houston State — he played a level below that in Division II. That isn’t to say that Carr won’t be capable of making the jump, but there’s a big difference between playing Colorado School of Mines and Ohio State.
