In her first four years as head coach of the Lady Lions, Carolyn Kieger has emphasized playing with heavy pressure on the defensive side of the ball. Monday’s game was no different.
A strong defensive performance propelled Penn State to its first win of the regular season over Bucknell, with a final score of 90-68.
“Something that we’re trying to do every game is press and make the other team turn the ball over,” Moriah Murray said. “That all leads back to being tough and disciplined, and I think we did that today.”
The team stayed in their full-court-pressure defense from the opening tip-up until just about the final whistle of the game, wreaking havoc on the Bucknell offense for 40 straight minutes.
