Dealing with Deal | Penn State baseball is dealing as Big Ten play continues

Penn State is off to an impressive 14-4 start behind its pitching staff’s early success.

The staff has answered many questions, with some still up in the air as the Nittany Lions look for potential improvement.

DeSanto is Dealing

Ryan DeSanto entered the season as the No. 116 pitcher in the country, according to D1Baseball, and, up to this point, has pitched above his ranking.

In his most recent outing, the left-hander went five innings of one-hit baseball, striking out five batters.

He’s consistently competed with Mason Horwat as the team’s ace, and with Horwat potentially missing time due to injury, DeSanto will continue to get the nod on Friday evenings.
