Cornerback Joseph Johnson has decided to play elsewhere for his college career. The Class of 2020 announced his intention to transfer out of Penn State on Twitter earlier today:
Johnson entered Penn State as a three-star prospect out of Colonial Heights, Virginia. He was an early enrollee, joining the team in January 2020 ahead of his true freshman season. Johnson did not see any playing time last season, and likely believed that better opportunities were elsewhere after completing most of the spring session.
Johnson was ranked as the 11th-best prospect in Virginia, and 32nd-best cornerback of the 2020 class, according to 247.
