As he has done much of the season, wide receiver Emery Simmons led the charge this week. In 26-21 playoff victory for the South View (NC) Tigers, Simmons caught five passes for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also recorded eight tackles for the Tiger defense.
In Virginia, running back Devyn Ford and the North Stafford Wolverines advanced in playoff action with a 36-0 victory over Mountain View. Ford had 11 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 72-yard pick-six for the Wolverine defense.
Keaton Ellis and the State High Little Lions advanced to the next round of the state playoffs with a 56-19 victory over Delaware Valley.
