The 1-0 Big Ten conference loss was a disappointment for No. 9 Penn State. The team faced one of its hardest challenges against No. 5 Michigan State on Sunday afternoon.
However, Coach Erica Dambach was proud of her team’s performance, believing they rose to the challenge of the Spartans.
The green and white goal just over two minutes into the game was unexpected for the Nittany Lions, who have scored the first goal in nine of their ten games played.
The ball was well defended by Penn State but the constant redirection of the ball caused Amanda Poorbaugh to falter, as the ball slipped into the net.
