Just three weeks after being traded to the Oakland Raiders for a conditional 7th round draft pick, the Raiders have already decided to cut Christian Hackenberg, according to Field Yates.
Because the Raiders cut Hackenberg so quickly, Oakland will now get to keep the conditional 7th round pick they traded for Hackenberg, meaning the Jets gave away their 2016 2nd round selection for free.
While I’m sure Hackenberg will get another chance this summer with another NFL team, it looks very much likely that his NFL career (as far as, you know, making a team) is essentially over.
