JMU redshirt senior running back Cardon Johnson suffered a season-ending injury in JMU’s 75-14 win over Norfolk State on Saturday. Johnson played in only nine games last season before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury. Head coach Mike Houston said the school may explore a medical redshirt, but that decision will ultimately be decided by Johnson.
Johnson was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week and the CFPA FCS National Performer of the Week for his Sept. 4 performance at ECU. Johnson ran for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the Dukes’ 34-14 win over ECU.
