Would it be BYU football if Cougar fans didn’t have high hopes for a quarterback?
The most recent player to audition for the role of “Next Great BYU QB” is freshman Joe Critchlow, who became the first true freshman in Cougar history to get a road win in his first start as he managed the game and — with the help of the BYU rushing attack — defeated UNLV, 31-21, on Nov. 10.
Cougar players and coaches said Monday that they liked what they saw from Critchlow.
“Joe Critchlow did well and played a good game,” BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said.
