With a tenuous grip on the AFC's final wild-card spot, the Bills (5-4) announced Wednesday they're benching Tyrod Taylor and will start fifth-round rookie Nate Peterman in Week 11 at the Los Angeles Chargers.
The move could signal the end of Taylor's run in Buffalo, as the club restructured his contract for the second consecutive offseason and left just $1 million guaranteed in 2018. The Bills would have to move on from Taylor before the third day of the new league year, when his $6 million roster bonus triggers.
Taylor, 28, heads to the bench with a 91.
