Yacine Diop, a sophomore guard who started every game last season for the Pitt women’s basketball team, faces a slew of charges stemming from an incident last month, according to multiple reports.
Diop, a former star at Seton-LaSalle High School, was reportedly involved in an incident on campus resulting in charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and sale and use of air rifles.
The Pitt athletic department released a statement in regard to disciplinary measures for the Panthers’ leading returning scorer at 9.3 points per game.
“This past Thursday, Yacine Diop was given 100 hours of community service,” the statement reads.
