While the male reporters were given assignments dealing with the technical aspects of football, Karisa Maxwell was sent to ask Richie Incognito about who the MVP on his all star bikini team would be.
As expected, Incognito stiff-armed her.
With assignments like that, Maxwell decided to take the mindset that she’d rather beg forgiveness than ask permission, advice she shared at the “Breaking Into the Sports Industry” panel on March 26.
Maxwell spoke alongside three other Penn State alumna — Hannah Biondi, Shannon Furman and Ali Nicastro — in the HUB Freeman auditorium. All four know what it means to be a minority in the field but have found success despite their genders.
