It takes a special brand of effort from an athlete during a game to prompt the head coach into using the phrase "beast-mode,” once, let alone twice, in three weeks.
But there was no other way to describe Shannon Yoxheimer’s two-goal performance as Penn State (10-16-5, 6-6-5 CHA) dominated in a 3-0 shutout victory against Lindenwood (7-20-4, 4-9-4 CHA) on Friday night.
“Shannon Yoxheimer, just in beast-mode,” coach Josh Brandwene said. “Eight shots on goal, the two goals and a really good job complimenting her linemates.”
Though Yoxheimer played a good game and contributed greatly to the outcome, the offense in general sustained a hard effort throughout the 60 minutes.
