Last week, JUCO safety commit Ji’Ayir Brown was named the 2019 Northeast Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year. This came on the heels of a season in which Brown recorded 26 tackles, 3 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. He was a key cog on a Falcon defense that will play for a JUCO National Championship this Thursday.
Like fellow Lackawanna Falcon product Jaquan Brisker did this season, Brown will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact next fall. Depending on how things shake out at safety, Brown may even have the opportunity to start for Brent Pry’s unit next fall.
