Junior first baseman Matt Berler picked the perfect time to hit his first Division I home run.
Berler, a transfer from Meridian Community College in his first season with the Tigers, delivered the decisive blow in Missouri's 5-0 win over Tennessee (27-23, 7-19 SEC) with a two-out grand slam to left field in the top of the fifth inning.
Freshman left fielder Kameron Misner scored an insurance run on a fielder's choice in the top of the seventh, and freshman left-handed pitcher T.J. Sikkema closed the door on the Vols to cap off a complete game in just his second start of the season and give Missouri (33-21, 12-16) its fourth win in a row.
