ATLANTA – Auburn's Kerryon Johnson did start at tailback Saturday but struggled to just 44 yards on the ground in the SEC Championship Game loss to Georgia.
The junior tailback ended the week-long debate by being the tailback on the first series for every play of the opening drive where Auburn drove 75 yards for the game’s first touchdown. Except for when he was the quarterback out of the wildcat formation, Johnson was either behind or at Jarrett Stidham’s side but didn’t look comfortable as he recovers from his upper body injury suffered in the Iron Bowl victory over Alabama.
