Following back-to-back conference road wins, Penn State was ranked No. 18 in the USCHO poll for the first time since November after it earned a significant series sweep over then-No. 19 Wisconsin at the Kohl Center.
Tthe Nittany Lions secured a 2-0 victory last Friday, featuring a strong performance from junior goaltender Arsenii Sergeev, who stopped all 25 of the Badgers’ shots on goal. Penn State’s win snapped a seven-game losing streak to Wisconsin that dated back to February 2023.
With another opponent blanked, Sergeev has now surpassed the program’s record for single-season shutouts, a mark previously set by Liam Souliere, who totaled three in 2022-23.
