Another day and another award watch list for Trace McSorley

Dating back to 1967 the NCAA Division I FBS coaches and SIDs have presented the Maxwell Award to the young man they have deemed the best all-around college football player in America. Unsurprisingly, Trace McSorley has been named to the Walter Camp Award watch list for 2018.

In my opinion, Penn State’s superstar quarterback is the best quarterback in the FBS. McSorley is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country, and is a preseason Heisman Trophy favorite for a reason.

Two Nittany Lions have won the Walter Camp Award in the past: John Cappelletti in 1973 and Larry Johnson in 2002

If McSorley has the season many are expecting of him while quarterbacking the Nittany Lions to a third consecutive New Year’s Six Bowl or beyond, he will have an excellent shot at being third Nittany Lion to take home the Walter Camp Award.
