Last fall, Nittany Lion fans watched as true freshman running back Saquon Barkley burst onto the college football scene. Playing in just 11 of Penn State’s 13 games, including just one carry against Temple, Barkley rushed for 1,076 yards and seven touchdowns. Barkley displayed all the traits of a great running back last year, showing an ability to make tacklers miss, balance, burst, one heck of a hurdle, speed, strength, and vision.
Even though Barkley was the freshman running back that burst onto the scene last year, he was not the only talented running back signed in the 2015 recruiting class.
