Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State are bunched at the top in that order in the first FWAA Super 16 poll of the 2017 season.
A full third of the top 12 is made up of Big Ten teams including the No. 2-ranked Buckeyes, No. 6 Penn State, No. 11 Michigan and No. 12 Wisconsin.
Alabama collected 39 of the 47 first-place votes with Florida State (3), Ohio State (2), Clemson (2) and Southern California (1) receiving the remainder.
The Football Writers Association of America presents the Super 16 every year in collaboration with the National Football Foundation.
