Former United States Women’s National Soccer Team captain Abby Wambach was arrested Sunday in Portland, Oregon on a DUI charge. Wambach did not stop for a red light, failed the field sobriety test and a breathalyzer test.
Wambach will not let her recent mistake hinder her from spreading her message for equality and she stayed committed to her previously scheduled lecture to Penn State students at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night in the Eisenhower Auditorium. The Student Programming Association sponsored the speaking event.
Although Wambach did not go into detail about her recent arrest, she did take responsibility and expressed remorse for her actions.
