Let’s not belabor the point. The Penn State Nittany Lions went into a game against a severely overmatched opponent and did exactly what you would expect of a team with hopes of making the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception. It wasn’t all perfect, there are plenty of issues to address as Big Ten play kicks off in a week, but overall, this game went exactly as you would expect.
The Nittany Lions started well in the first quarter, as they drove all the way down the field after forcing a three-and-out out of Kent State, but a turnover at the hands of Beau Pribula made a promising drive stall out.
