By and large, it was a good season for the Falcons. The crown jewel of their out-of-conference slate wasn’t picking off JJ McCarthy three times — it was upsetting Georgia Tech (who ended up a bowl team) in Bobby Dodd Stadium in late September. Bowling Green finished the year 7-6 and earned themselves a bowl trip to the Quick Lane Bowl where it played competitively against Minnesota, losing a close one 30-24.
