No one is ever going to accuse Penn State HC James Franklin of being lazy - since he took the reins in State College three months ago, he's barely taken a moment to breathe. That dedication - and the fact that his family hasn't moved up to Pennsylvania yet - is why he has so much time to work on Penn State's recruiting drive, and so far it's paid off (the Nittany Lions 2015 class is ranked 2nd in the nation by 247 sports, closely trailing Alabama).
That ranking has come at a price, according to USA Today's For The Win.
“I’m not a sleep-in-the-office kind of guy,” Franklin told FTW. “You hear about coaches sleeping in their offices. I’ve never done that. It’s just my family isn’t here and I haven’t had a chance to look and find a place.”
Franklin was originally staying at the Residence Inn, but apparently that didn't cut it, and about a month ago he set up an air mattress in his office. We admire Franklin's drive, but we hope (for his sake) that his sleeping arrangements improve in the very near future.
