The Penn State Nittany Lions already boast one of the top recruiting classes in the country, but they're far from done, making a strong push during the last month of recruiting as we heads towards National Signing Day on February 3. However, for this class to truly reach its full potential, here are three players Penn State needs to make sure they sign:
Four-star CB Lavert Hill
Hill committed to Penn State earlier in his recruitment, but decommitted in November - though PSU is still very much in the hunt to land him. However, two of his former teammates have already committed to Michigan State and his brother, Delano Hill, is a safety at Michigan. Both schools are making extremely hard pushes to land Hill, but Penn State needs to land him to add a top corner to their class. Hill is ranked as the No. 13 cornerback and No. 136 overall prospect in the country.
Four-star LB Brandan Ferns
Ferns is one of the most sought-after uncommitted inside linebackers left in the country, and Penn State is making such a strong surge late that it looks like they'll sign him. He received three visits from members of the Penn State coaching staff last month and has an official visit - his only one left - to Happy Valley scheduled this weekend. It will be very disappointing if the No. 7 linebacker in the country signs anywhere else.
Four-star DT Karamo Dioubate
Dioubate decommited from Penn State on Jan. 7, but the Nittany Lions are still the favorite to land him on Signing Day. He had originally committed to PSU in August and is taking official visits to South Carolina, Temple, and Michigan State this month. That being said, the Nittany Lions are doing everything they can to get Dioubate's commitment back since they were counting on him to be one of their top incoming prospects. He is ranked as the No. 18 defensive tackle in the country.
