STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior Marissa Young has been named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today. This is her fifth-career Pitcher of the Week award and first honor for a Tiger this season.
Against Seattle this past Friday Young threw eight innings as the Tigers won 2-1, allowing just one run and striking out nine. The next day Young logged her first career save as she pitched two innings of shutout ball against Seattle to help Pacific secure the 9-7 victory. On Sunday the hurler continued her stellar weekend in the circle by throwing six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits, zero walks and striking out three.
