Women’s Soccer Edged By BYU

PROVO, Utah - The Pacific women's soccer team continued West Coast Conference play against BYU Thursday evening in Provo, Utah but fell to the Cougars 2-0. Henriikka Mäkelä had a career high 15 saves for the Tigers.

With the loss, Pacific falls to 4-9-2 overall and 1-3 in WCC play. The win brings BYU to 5-5-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

BYU got the early lead with a quick goal in the second minute of play as Madie Mathews dribbled around the Pacific defenders to find the back of the net. Makela would help keep Pacific in the game making six saves in the first half, but the Cougars struck again in the 42nd minute to put the Tigers down 2-0 after the first 45.
