IRVINE, Calif. - Pacific's Jack Williams scored a career-high 17 points, but UC Irvine scored 38 points in the paint, leading to a 72-65 win Saturday evening inside the Bren Events Center.
UC Irvine (2-2) got 20 points from Ioannis Dimakopoulos. Spencer Rivers scored eight of his 10 points in the first 20 minutes.
The Anteaters trailed early before a 9-0 run in a two-minute span opened up an 11-4 cushion. Pacific (1-2) scored eight of the next 10 points, as a Jacob Lampkin old-fashioned three-point play made the score 13-12.
The Tigers turned five Anteater turnovers into seven points through the first eight minutes of play.
