The West Coast Conference announced Thursday afternoon that its member institutions, including University of Pacific, are delaying the start of fall athletics until Sept. 24, due to COVID-19, the novel coronavirus.
This decision affects the fall seasons in men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.
“The announcement by the WCC to delay the start of competition this fall is in response to the recent rise in COVID cases and maintains the health and well-being of our student-athletes as the primary consideration,” Pacific Athletic Director Janet Lucas said.
