Following a perfect weekend in singles play in which he defeated a nationally-ranked player, Pacific men's tennis' junior Ross Watson has been named as the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week.
On Friday at UC Irvine, Watson was one of two Tigers to pull out a victory when he won easily at No. 1 singles over Sasha Krasnov, 6-4, 6-1.
On Sunday, he knocked off Ricky Hernandez Tong, who is tied for 72nd in the nation with a straight set 7-6, 6-3 win. Tong started the spring season ranked No. 23 and has played several other ranked players from ranked teams since.
