STOCKTON – For someone who declares she highly dislikes being the center of attention, Pacific’s Caitlyn Sung found herself surrounded by cheering teammates after her walk-off hit in the 10th inning carried the Tigers’ softball team to a thrilling victory Saturday at Bill Simoni Field.
Pacific’s 5-4 win was much needed considering the Santa Clara Broncos no-hit the Tigers in the opener of the double-header, winning 2-0. Santa Clara’s Aubree Kim would have had a perfect game had it not been for Sung’s walk in the sixth inning.
Both teams take the field again at noon today to finish off the three-game series.
