Stockton, Calif. - After leading the Tigers in saves this season, Vince Arobio was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 27th round, number 808 overall, of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft Saturday.
Arobio's six saves this year gave him 15 in his career, just one away from tying for the most in Pacific history. Arobio ended the year with a three-inning, five-strikeout save against Pepperdine, setting new career bests in both innings pitched in a game and strikeouts. Arobio's 14.02 K/9 led the Tigers by almost four K/9. His 27 strikeouts were a new career high in a season despite Arobio pitching the fewest innings in any of his three years as a Tiger.
