STOCKTON, Calif. - Another day, another award for the Pacific men's soccer team as Wouter Verstraaten has been named HERO Sports' HERO of the Week, the publication announced today. Verstraaten earned 518 votes (45.56% of the total votes) to earn this distinction.
The recognition comes days after Verstraaten earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career. The defender logged two game-winning goals over this past weekend to help Pacific cap off a perfect 2-0 JMU Invitational. On Friday against Virginia Tech, Verstraaten scored in the 83rd minute to put Pacific up 1-0 as he brought the ball up the left side and punched it in for the score.
