STOCKTON, Calif. - Field Hockey's Kriekie van Wyk was named the October Competitor of the Month for the Pacific Tigers thanks to her stellar work leading the Tigers in scoring en route to a division championship and a second-place finish in the conference tournament. Only eight student-athletes at Pacific are honored with the Competitor of the Month award each academic year. The award is given each month to a Pacific athlete who demonstrates unusual or remarkable competitive effort, focus, and discipline.
Van Wyk scored 17 points in eight October games to wrap up the regular season, leading Pacific to a 7-1 record in the month.
