STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific Field Hockey goalkeeper Marlise van Tonder earned her second America East Defensive Player of the Week accolade this season, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Van Tonder was outstanding on the road during her final regular-season contests, allowing just two goals and stopping 13-of-15 shots on goal against No. 21 Stanford and California. Against the Cardinal, she faced 10 shots on goal, 15 overall.
"Marlise has been world class all season. This award is very well deserved," expressed head coach Andy Smith.
