Pacific women's basketball's Valerie Higgins was named as the West Coast Conference Player of the Week today after a week in which she stuffed the stat sheet while helping the Tigers to two wins.
The sophomore guard has quickly asserted herself as a centerpiece of the Tigers' lineup and perhaps as one of the best two-way players in the WCC. She kept up her great start to the season this week by propelling the Tigers to wins over Seattle and UC Santa Barbara. Higgins led the Tigers in scoring in both games and recorded a double-double, her third of the season, against Seattle on Thursday night.
