STOCKTON — Delta College women’s basketball made the playoffs in each and every one of its first 21 full seasons under head coach Gina Johnson.
With one game remaining in the regular season of campaign No. 22, the Mustangs are well on their way back to the madness.
Delta shook off a slow start to beat American River 69-54 in a Big 8 Conference game Tuesday on “Coaches vs. Cancer” night at Blanchard Gym. The Mustangs host the Diablo Valley Vikings on Thursday to cap the regular season.
“I’ve been coaching awhile,” said Johnson, who’s guided Delta to four CCCAA Final Fours during her tenure, which began in 1996.
