The top men’s seed at the Stockton Pro Open keeps rolling along.
Jordan Thompson of Australia advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Kaichi Uchida of Japan 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 on Thursday at University of the Pacific’s Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. He was the final men’s singles player to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Thompson dropped the first set but came back to secure the win.
Sixth-seed Noah Rubin (6) advanced to the quarterfinals in singles, beating William Blumberg 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in a battle of players from the United States. Rubin battled through three sets to be the first player to advance and secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
