STOCKTON – Within seconds of scoring the winning goal in overtime Sunday against visiting Loyola Marymount at Knoles Field, Pacific’s Andres Ochoa was swamped by teammate eager to get their share of body punches in on their senior midfielder.
And Ochoa wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
“You’re not thinking about much, I’m just hyped that I scored,” Ochoa, describing the post-game celebration. “My ribs are a little sore, with people punching you and slapping you in the head. It’s probably the best feeling, it has to be.”
Pacific’s memorable 1-0 victory strengthened its chances of qualifying for the NCAA tournament in two weeks.
