STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific baseball team snagged game one of the series against Santa Clara on Friday night, 7-3.
The Tigers improve to 19-25 on the season and 9-13 in the West Coast Conference, while the Broncos fall to 20-23 overall and 6-13 in conference play.
In the bottom of the second, the Orange and Black got out to a quick 1-0 lead. With one out, Carter Hayes blasted a triple to right center field to put Pacific in scoring position. Kevin Sandri singled up the middle to score Hayes for the 1-0 lead.
