STOCKTON – Pacific showed it can pour in points when it needs to, but the Tigers showed they can survive cold shooting as well.
The young Tigers fought through a poor first half shooting spell and a pair of Cal State Fullerton rallies to open their 2017-2018 campaign with an 81-65 victory over the Titans in front of 391 fans Monday evening at the Spanos Center.
It may have been Pacific jitters as the Tigers (1-0) missed a pair of early layups but their defense forced the Titans (1-1) out of any offensive rhythm to maintain control.
