STOCKTON — Losing four potential starters from your volleyball team in the offseason isn’t easy. Opening West Coast Conference play on the road at No. 1 BYU and No. 24 San Diego and being swept twice in three days isn’t easy, either.
But Pacific sure made the game look easy in its WCC home opener, sweeping Santa Clara 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 Tuesday night at Spanos Center.
The Tigers (6-8, 1-2 WCC) out-hit and out-set the Broncos (5-9, 0-2) throughout – at times with dramatic shows of force. Especially in Game 3, when sophomore Kaitlyn Lines hammered home a kill – appearing to glance off the face of Santa Clara’s Liliana Light.
