The Pacific men’s basketball team appeared well on its way to winning for the first time on the road this season.
But the Tigers squandered a 20-point second half lead and fell to Cal State Fullerton 78-77 in a nonconference game on Saturday at Titan Gym.
Pacific (3-4) played all but 3 minutes of the game without its leading scorer T.J. Wallace, who hit his head hard on the floor and did not return. The Tigers could have used Wallace’s experience and leadership as their cushion slowly evaporated in the final 12 minutes of the game.
Ray Bowles scored a game-high 22 points for Pacific, which shot 50 percent from the floor overall and 50 percent from 3-point range.
