Tigers Split On Day One Of Oregon Invite

EUGENE, Ore. - The Tigers split their first two games of the University of Oregon Invitational, dropping the first to Hofstra before topping Idaho State 5-3. In game one, Pacific was shutout for the second-straight game as they fell 2-0 to Hofstra in the opener. Marissa Young tossed five and a third with five strikeouts and just two earned in her eighth start of the season. Pacific managed to get five of their seven leadoff batters on base but could not find the offense to bring them around.

In game two, stellar two-out hitting helped the Tigers get back in the win column as Pacific scored five runs in the second inning all with two down to take the 5-3 win.
