Tigers split first home series of season

STOCKTON — The first home series of the Pacific baseball team’s season is in the books. It started out well enough for the Tigers, but their offensive woes caught up to them before the weekend was through.

Pacific fell 4-3 to visiting Utah Valley on Sunday at Klein Family Field, forcing a series split after winning the opener Friday and the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

Bradley Jekich went 3 for 4 with a double and a triple for the Tigers (3-5), falling a home run short of the cycle. Leadoff man Keaton Glover had the homer Jekich was missing, and Matthew Tarantino had a double as well.
