    STOCKTON – J.J. Wagner had already earned respect as a strong defender through his first three seasons with the Pacific baseball team.
    The St. Mary’s High graduate and Tigers' third baseman had proven himself worthy at the collegiate level, but never peaked at the plate. The term “power hitter” wouldn’t have fit, until this spring.
    Wagner had two home runs in his first three collegiate seasons, yet has launched six long balls as a senior.
